You can set your email to sync automatically. However, if you want to check for new emails manually, follow this tutorial. Before checking for new email, make sure you have already added your email account to your device. Otherwise, see our tutorial on how to add an email account on iPhone/iOS.
- Open the home screen of your Apple device and tap the Mail icon.
- Under Mailboxes, tap your email account.
- If it starts syncing automatically, wait a few seconds. Otherwise, tap and hold at the top of the inbox, pull down, and release. It will start checking for new emails.
- That's it. If you receive a new email, it will appear on the screen. If you have no new messages, you will see an empty box.
